
Rockport Garden Club Membership
The Rockport Garden Club has over 200 members. It is a welcoming organization open to men and women that encourages participation in all events and activities. Meetings and programs are held on the first Monday of each month from April to December (with some exceptions). Some meetings are held in the evening, most in the afternoon. All events are listed on this website at Events & Programs. A printed Yearbook is also provided to each member.
An application can be printed from this website. Those interested in joining should contact the Membership Committee for information and directions for how to proceed.

Please refer to this page and do offer to help in areas that appeal to you. The Chairs of the respective committees will contact you when you indicate your interest on your application. We need everyone!
ROCKPORT GARDEN CLUB COMMITTEES
CHRISTMAS TEA DECORATIONS: Obtains florals and decorates the home to be used for the
Christmas Tea.
FUND RAISING: Plans and works annual fund-raisers for the support of Town Gardens,
scholarships, and other civic projects.
Plant and Garden Shed Sale: June 5, 2010 Garden Tour: July 9 and 10, 2010
HORTICULTURE: Arranges field trips and provides our members with appropriate
horticultural and conservation information.
HOSPITALITY: Acts as a hostess and/or provides refreshments at meetings and other gatherings
such as our annual Picnic and Christmas Tea.
MEMBERSHIP: Provides and receives new member applications, facilitates the integration of
new members, meets and greets all members, provides name tags, keeps membership
information, records, statistics and trends. Sends out dues requests, informational mailings,
emails, birthday cards and makes phone calls.
NOMINATING: Chair apppointed by club President. Prepares a list of candidates seeking or
proposed for office.
PROGRAM: Plans programs, location of the Annual Picnic, Christmas Tea, and trips for the
entire season.
PUBLICITY: Submits all information concerning meetings to local newspapers and provides all
publicity for club events and fundraisers through appropriate outlets.
SERVICE:
OPEN DOOR: Prepares and coordinates meals for “Open Door” in Gloucester
four times a year.
DEN MAR: Prepares floral remembrances for and visits with local nursing home
residents. Maintains and waters indoor plants weekly.
SCHOLARSHIP: Comprised of Club Directors. Works with Publicity and local schools to
advertize the availability of Garden Club Scholarships and screen applicants for
scholarship awards.
TOWN GARDENS: Plants, cultivates, weeds, deadheads, waters and enjoys being part of a team
responsible for the care of one of our thirteen town gardens. Participates in the
redesign of existing gardens and plans for future garden locations.
